Priceless: Reuters and other media outlets pull stories saying the U.S. under Trump detains the most children at the border. One small problem: the data used is from the Obama administration. (True Conservative Pundit)
Yesterday I wrote about how the AP blasted Trump for supposedly contradicting his own ambassador to the European Union on his (Donald Sondland’s) testimony before Congress concerning the Trump/Ukraine scandal. Except that said contradiction never happened – and the AP ended up with a large serving of egg on their face.
A reporter from CNN actually called out the AP on this egregious screw up. This CNN reporter lives and breathes to make President Trump look bad. You just can’t make this stuff up.
PJ Media has the story:
“A story that claimed the Trump administration had the highest number of children in detention in the world was suddenly withdrawn by several media outlets because the study upon which the story was based used data from 2015.
The president of the United States in 2015 was Barack Obama.
A Nov. 18 story headlined ‘U.S. has world’s highest rate of children in detention -U.N. study’ is withdrawn. The United Nations issued a statement on Nov. 19 saying the number was not current but was for the year 2015. No replacement story will be issued.”
Reuters was not the only news (I use that term loosely) agency that issued retractions – from The Epoch Times:
“Several news outlets were forced to make retractions on Nov. 19 after they falsely attributed the statistics of Obama-era migration-related child detentions to President Donald Trump from a U.N. report.
The Agence France-Presse (AFP) news agency, Reuters, NPR, and The Associated Press were among the media organizations to withdraw their reports which claimed over 100,000 children were in migration-related U.S. detention”
“Quick to jump on the bandwagon was the Democrat National Committee, which described the figures in the U.N. report as “Our National Shame,” and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who tweeted the Reuters report to his millions of followers with the caption: “Under Trump, America leads the world in locking up little kids—including 100,000 children at the border. This is immoral.”
“Meanwhile, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) tweeted that “these high numbers of detentions are straight from the Trump administration,” linking to a report by The Associated Press which was carried by NBC News.”
These high numbers of detentions are straight from the Trump Administration.
These are children, they’re here seeking hope and safety. https://t.co/SlvBOG855U

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign jumped on this fake news report and got a shot in:
“Once we found out that more than 100,000 children were in migration-related U.S. detention while Joe Biden was Vice President, we no longer wanted to report this story. Nothing to see here!”

Exactly – we agree 100%. If it does not cause harm to Trump, do not publish it. If it sheds a bad light on Obama/Biden etc. – yes you guessed it, do not publish it.
What is the moral of this story?
The U.S. media will do anything to protect Barack Obama, even retract a factually true story because it made Obama look bad; can’t have that. All the Democrats and their lapdogs, the national media, as well as almost all of social media – refuse to report truth, and at the same time concentrate their efforts on making Donald Trump look bad.
