What Finger News

By Joe Newby

On Tuesday, the Associated Press said that Neil Potts, the director of public policy for Facebook, told the House Judiciary Committee that the site removes content it believes incites violence.  But Rich Penkoski, pastor of the online ministry Warriors for Christ, told the Conservative Firing Line that Potts wasn’t telling the whole truth.

“There is no place for terrorism or hate on Facebook,” Potts told the committee. “We remove any content that incites violence.”

Indeed, Facebook has been quite busy labeling content as “hateful” or “violent” — Content that includes a portion of the Declaration of Independence, an article about Rep. Rashida Tlaib introducing articles of impeachment, a prayer for the protection of children and a picture of Santa kneeling before the baby Jesus.

But, Penkoski said, the site does not remove content that incites violence against Christians or others who do not go along with the LGBTQ agenda.

“I have given you hundreds of examples of posts that invite violence against us and you’ve dismissed them and did nothing,” Penkoski told Potts in an email obtained by the Conservative Firing Line.  He further said his ministry receives violent threats “all the time,” but the site penalizes them instead of those engaging in the attacks.  And this is by no means a new issue, as we reported here.

Penkoski further said that he has been stalked and harassed by some of those individuals, with some coming to his house.  Now, he says, his page is being throttled “while people who threaten me have no issues on Facebook.”

He also told the Conservative Firing Line that those threatening his ministry online have said someone should put a bullet in his head, told them they should die, and, he added, “an LGBTQ supporter encouraged his followers to find me and punch me in the face.”

These incidents, he told me, have been reported to Facebook, but nothing has been done.

Moreover, Potts has personally been included on emails addressing a number of these online attacks, according to emails we obtained.

“Facebook is a fascist left-wing shill organization that wants to transform society into the image they want.  A society full of perverts, pedophiles, and Muslims that want to eradicate Christians and conservatives from America,” Penkoski said.

A double standard?  It certainly sounds like it to us and it’s double standards like this that prompted yours truly to publish “Banned: How Facebook Enables Militant Islamic Jihad” with American-Israeli Adina Kutnicki in 2016.

We reached out to Potts for comment but have not received a response as of this writing.
