To a great deal of mainstream media (MSM) fanfare, Democratic star Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) on Thursday laid out the allegedly goals of a “Green New Deal” they say is meant to combat ‘climate change’ by making the United States reliant on energy technologies that produce zero emissions within a decade.
Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.
But the MSM ignored a revelation Wednesday by a former top staffer for “AOC” that the true objective of the plan isn’t just to achieve a renaissance in clean energy but to essentially steal the wealth of rich Americans and redistribute it, Venezuela-style, throughout the country — that is, until the wealth runs out.
As Reuters reports, the Green New Deal is likely to be pushed heavily by Democrats in the run-up to the 2020 elections. Ocasio-Cortez, Markey, and other Democrats envision a government-led investment effort (read taxpayer-financed, not private industry-financed) on a large scale to develop clean energy infrastructure while transforming the U.S. economy.
“The Green New Deal fully tackles the existential threat posed by climate change by presenting a comprehensive, 10-year plan that is as big as the problem it hopes to solve while creating a new era of shared prosperity,” according to a summary of the plan Democrats released Thursday.
For her part, Ocasio-Cortez said she plans to begin to work right away on legislation that would “fully flesh out the projects involved in the Green New Deal.”
Republicans have already pooh-poohed the plan with one lawmaker, Rep. Doug Lamborn of Colorado, noting that a climate change hearing Wednesday in the House natural resources committee sounded more like discussing a “Soviet five-year plan.”
Doug Lamborn, a Republican from Colorado, said at a climate change hearing in the House natural resources committee on Wednesday that the policy was akin to a “Soviet five-year plan.”
“We … need to be sure that workers currently employed in fossil fuel industries have higher-wage and better jobs available to them to be able to make this transition, and a federal jobs guarantee ensures that no worker is left behind,” says a summary of the plan.
But it’s much more than that: According to a Left-wing activist who worked on Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign and helped her draft the Green New Deal, admitted on Twitter this week that the plan is nothing more than a Marxist wealth redistribution scheme.
“America’s ruling class is freaking out about [Ocasio-Cortez’s] proposal to redistribute wealth and power from the people on top to the people on the bottom,” Waleed Shahid tweeted Tuesday, referring to a Fox News segment on the Green New Deal.

Shahid is the communication director for the far-Left Justice Democrats as well as a former policy director for New York Democrat and actress Cynthia Nixon’s gubernatorial campaign. He is also among a handful of activists and staffers who wrote the initial draft of the Green New Deal, The Daily Caller reported.
The plan “was written over a single December weekend by the staff of the freshman representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and three like-minded progressive groups,” The New Yorker reported in January.
Other authors of the plan included Ocasio-Cortez’s Chief of Staff Saikat Chakrabarti as well as leaders of the Sunrise Movement, an environmental group, all of whom are in their 20s and not exactly titans of business and industry.
In addition to pushing for green energy and zero emissions within a decade, the plan also calls for implementing a gaggle of new social welfare programs like free healthcare.
In fact, Ocasio-Cortez sees her Green New Deal as a vehicle to “establish economic, social and racial justice in the United States of America,” according to remarks she made at an event in 2018 that she attended with avowed socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who is also considering a 2020 presidential bid.
The plan doesn’t have much of a chance to pass the GOP-controlled Senate let alone make it past POTUS Donald Trump’s veto pen. But the fact that it’s being sold solely as an infrastructure plan bears closer scrutiny as Democrats continue to advance it over the next couple of years.
