Something surprising happened on CNN on Thursday.
CNN Anchor Poppy Harlow was discussing President Trump’s recent comments about North Korea when the Trump-hating former Clinton team member Adrianne Elrod began arguing that Trump’s comments were out of line.
For her part, Harlow was shocked that Elrod would be so critical of President Trump when her former boss, President Bill Clinton had said much the same thing during his presidency back in 1993.

Poppy Harlow: “Hold on, hold on,” Harlow interrupted. “Let me read you a statement from former president Bill Clinton in 1993: ‘…It is pointless for North Korea to try to develop nuclear weapons because if they ever use them it would be the end of their country.’ How is that markedly different from rhetoric used by President Trump?”
Poppy Harlow: “Isn’t that really strong language from both?”
Elrod continued to dissemble, trying to recover from being caught in her hypocrisy.
It was nice to see a CNN anchor stand up for the truth and not just allow a leftwing liar to spout nonsense on the network (which is what they usually do).
Harlow is right on the money too. President Trump didn’t say anything that many other President’s have said in the past.
Moreover, the problems we’re facing with North Korea (and Iran) are the fault of the Democrat administrations of the past 40 years.
Meanwhile, President Trump isn’t backing down from his comments… if anything, he’s doubling down.
In a recent question and answer session that covered North Korea, Mitch McConnell, and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, President Trump said that the American people can feel safe with him at the helm. He also said that North Korea better be tread carefully as they move forward with their ballistic missiles and their attempts at creating effective nuclear weapons… because President Trump is watching.
“The people of this country should be very comfortable, and I will tell you this: If North Korea does anything in terms of even thinking about attack of anybody that we love or we represent or our allies or us, they can be very, very nervous. I’ll tell you what.”
