Back in May, ABC announced that they would be cancelling their most popular Friday evening show, Last Man Standing. The cancellation caused much consternation among American conservatives because the show was a popular, and lonely, bastion of conservative belief on television. In fact, many fans wondered if this was the main reason that ABC had decided to cancel the show.
Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.
Tim Allen’s popular and well-rated “Last Man Standing” sitcom is the latest victim of this leftist assault on conservative values.
“After ABC suddenly canceled the hit show Last Man Standing, and John Nolte of The Daily Wire excoriated ABC for their motives in canceling the show, prompting Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to cite Nolte’s viral column on Twitter while slamming ABC, a petition to boycott ABC was created on Change.org which collected nearly 10,000 signatures overnight, according to The Washington Examiner.
“Another petition on PetitionCongress.org stated, ‘With a plethora of ultra-liberal shows available on television, this show stood out from the rest and motivated conservatives who voted for President Trump. Please demand that Congress investigate whether LMS was cancelled for political reasons.’”
Tim Allen himself has been a vocal proponent of the Trump administration, recognizing the President’s unrivaled work ethic and common sense approach to governing.
Allen’s own commentary on liberal Hollywood, made just a couple of months earlier on the Jimmy Kimmel show, seemed prescient. When Allen appeared with Kimmel he said of liberal Hollywood, “You’ve gotta be real careful around here. You might get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody believes. This is like ’30s Germany. I don’t know what happened. If you’re not part of the group, ‘you know what we believe is right,’ I go, ‘Well, I might have a problem with that.’ I’m a comedian, I like going on both sides.” Less than 3 months later, Allen was out of work…
But he may be back on the job very shortly.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that CMT is considering buying the rights to new episodes of Last Man Standing to air on their network.
CMT may come to the rescue of another canceled ABC series.
The Viacom-owned network is in preliminary talks to revive canceled Tim Allen comedy Last Man Standing. Insiders stress talks are in the early stages as CMT is exploring if it can revive the expensive show at a price point that works for the niche cable network. It’s unclear if a deal will be made as insiders cautioned that a renewal at CMT may be a long shot given the price tag on the veteran series. Also unclear is how big of a renewal the show could get as everything from a short order to multiple-season/20-episode run have been rumored. 20th TV, which has already placed calls to writers about a potential revival, and CMT declined comment.
If the show can produce the same kind of numbers for CMT that it did for ABC, it would easily be the highest rated show CMT has ever had.
