Since taking office in January President Trump has been methodically working to untangle the knot of regulations that he understands are holding back our nation’s economy. Particularly, as it pertains to the energy industry, he’s set himself about the task of dismantling the regulatory morass that has been hindering our growth and costing our citizens billions of dollars would could be spending elsewhere.

General Michael Flynn defense fund Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.

Almost immediately the President signed a series of Executive Orders (EO’s) that spoke to a series of energy and infrastructure projects. Then a few weeks later he watched his choice for Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator be confirmed to his cabinet, Scott Pruitt is a devout climate change skeptic who immediately began refocusing the EPA away from the frivolities of climate change and liberal causes du jour and towards the needs of the American people. The just last week, President Trump gave final approval to the Keystone XL pipeline which will improve relations with our friends to the North, create dozens of new jobs for Americans, and drive down energy costs across the nation. Now, Trump may be delivering the greatest blow yet as he unveils his latest EO with an eye towards “Energy Independence,” which will functionally dismantle the Obama administrations many climate change policies.

The upcoming order goes even farther than axing the CPP, according to Bloomberg’s Jennifer Dlouhy, who got a sneak peek at Tuesday’s order. Here’s what it does:

  • Orders EPA to review and “if appropriate’ work to repeal or revise the CPP.
  • Rescinds the Interior Department’s moratorium on new coal mining leases on federal lands.
  • Repeals an Obama-era guidance on how federal agencies should take global warming into account when doing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) permitting reviews.
  • Disbands a federal working group that developed the “social cost of carbon” (SCC) estimate used to justify onerous global warming regulations. The SCC will also be thrown out.

Dlouhy reports Trump’s order revokes “six specific directives from his predecessor, including Obama’s broad strategy for paring emissions of methane released from oil and gas operations.”

Trump will also rescind “Obama directives targeted for repeal include one on climate change and national security, as well as a pair of directives from June 2013 that laid out his climate plans,” Dlouhy reported.

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt told ABC News’ George Stephanopolous that President Trump would issue the order on Tuesday in an effort to stop government regulations from killing jobs and slowing our economic growth.

“George, the President is keeping his promise to the American people this week with respect to the Executive Order coming down on Tuesday–. the Energy Independence Executive Order. We need a pro-growth and pro-environment approach for how we do regulations in this country. For too long, we have accepted a narrative that if you’re pro-growth, pro-jobs, you’re anti-environment. That’s not where we have been as a country. We have made tremendous progress on our environment, we can be both pro-jobs and pro-environment. The Executive Order will address the past administration’s effort to kill jobs throughout the country through the Clean Power Plan.”
