Deadline for DOJ to Turn Over Evidence of Trump Wiretap is Today, John McCain Doubles Down on Trump Attack

General Michael Flynn defense fund Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.

Senator John McCain (R-AZ) continues to act like he’s leading the Democrat Party instead of representing the good (conservative) people of Arizona.

On Sunday the VERY senior Senator from Arizona appeared on CNN not to talk about how the legislature would be making life better for Americans, but to talk about Trump, Russia, and liberal conspiracy theories.

On Trump’s wiretap claims:

“President Trump has to provide the American people, not just the Intelligence Committee, but the American people, with evidence that his predecessor, former president of the United States, was guilty of breaking the law…. I think the president has one of two choices: either retract or to provide the information that the American people deserve. Because, if his predecessor violated the law, President Obama violated the law, we have got a serious issue here, to say the least.”

On Jake Tapper’s assertion that the President is constantly spouting “conspiracy theories”:

“On an issue such as this, accusing a former president of the United States of doing something which is not only illegal, but just unheard of, then that requires corroboration. And I will let the American people be the judge.”

Today is also the deadline set by Congress for the Department of Justice to turn over any information about President Trump’s wiretapping claim.

The House Intelligence Community has set a Monday deadline for the DOJ to provide the evidence, a source familiar with the matter has told CNN, and has sent letters throughout the intelligence community this week to obtain records related to Russia.

Remember, all of this commotion, all of this insane press coverage, all of this ridiculous talk of President Trump making assertions “without evidence,” all started with a tweet from the President.

Is this really worth all of the drama and ink that the press have stirred up over the last week or so? No one seemed to care when the New York Times reported back in December that Trump had been wiretapped by the Obama administration.

And no one cared when the Guardian reported that the FBI had asked for a FISA warrant but the evidence was so thin that even the FISA court couldn’t grant the warrant.

The Guardian has learned that the FBI applied for a warrant from the foreign intelligence surveillance (Fisa) court over the summer in order to monitor four members of the Trump team suspected of irregular contacts with Russian officials. The Fisa court turned down the application asking FBI counter-intelligence investigators to narrow its focus. According to one report, the FBI was finally granted a warrant in October, but that has not been confirmed, and it is not clear whether any warrant led to a full investigation.

Should Trump have tweeted what he did? Probably not, but as former Attorney General Michael Mukasey said, Trump is probably right and someone from the government was probably listening to his team… just not for the nefarious reasons that he may think. Which begs the question… why are we still talking about this?
