Journalism Professor Thanks Hillary Clinton for Her Honesty, Decency & Civility

Jeff Jarvis, 62, not only trains generations of journalists as a professor at the Graduate School of Journalism of City University of New York (CUNY), his influence spreads wide via his media consultancy and writings in books, magazines, newspapers and online.

General Michael Flynn defense fund Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.

So the ridiculous column he recently penned lauding Hillary Clinton is all the more outrageous for his deliberate blindness to FACTS:

  • Jarvis calls Hillary honest when she repeatedly lies, all recorded on camera, and uses her Clinton Foundation to rake in millions of dollars from pay-to-play foreign government “donors”.
  • Jarvis calls Hillary decent, when she abandoned four Americans — including two of her State Department staff — to die in Benghazi.
  • Jarvis calls Hillary civil and caring, when she trashes millions of Americans by calling them “a basket of deplorables” who are “irredeemable” racists, bigots and homophobes.

Here’s his nauseating essay. When you read it, just remember this man is a PROFESSOR OF JOURNALISM.

Jeff Jarvis, “Merry Christmas, Hillary Clinton,” Medium, Dec. 25, 2016:

“I want to say Merry Christmas to Hillary Clinton.

I am grateful to you for running a campaign on principle, patriotism, decency, honesty, intelligence, optimism, maturity, experience, care, and civility.

I am grateful to you for suffering such abuse from so many quarters for so many years and always coming back fighting — for us. You did it for us.

I cannot imagine the disappointment and, yes, anger and you must feel.

I fear that you might think you disappointed us. But we disappointed you. I wish I had knocked that many more doors in Pennsylvania. I wish I could have been that much more persuasive here, in so-called social media. I wish we could have won it for you.

In any case, I am grateful to you for giving me a gift before Christmas. You gave me my sense of citizenship back. I was a journalist and that separated me from the public we want to serve. In your campaign, I found an urgency, a reason to care, an opportunity to meet and listen to my fellow citizens, and, yes, a cause.

I want to live in your America, in your world. That, tragically, is not where we are now. We will have to learn new skills: how to resist unjust rule, how to protect those who need protection, how to make the unaccountable accountable.

It would be too much to ask you to keep fighting; you have been made to fight for too long. But we do still need your guidance, your leadership, and will be grateful when you can give it.

In the meantime, I pray you enjoy your family, especially your grandchildren, and can begin to see a future through their eyes. I want you to know how much respect, affection, and gratitude I — and I have no doubt millions more — have for you.

So thank you, Madame Secretary. Merry Christmas, Hillary. God bless.”

Aside from commenters who are just as delusional as Jarvis (e.g., Kelly Lux wrote: “Brought me to tears”), here’s a sample of comments from the sane readers:

Alexander Blum: “This is absolutely embarrassing. You are idolizing a neoliberal failure who spent her time in government bombing Muslim countries, incarcerating people of color, and cementing the corporate coup that has succeeded in destroying American democracy. The fact that people like you are considered a voice of reason is why Hillary lost. Your brand of toothless liberal mediocrity has utterly failed. Your post is abysmal, without content. It’s an ad for an oligarch who failed to stop a racist demagogue. It’s pathetic.”

ex-Inside Trader: “What an embarrassing read. Sorry, your pro-War, pro-Banker corrupt Establishment candidate lost; but, the world is safer and America is better for it.”

Joe Rice: “I want to thank Hillary also. I want to thank her for demonstrating just how dirty politics are. I also want to thank her for showing the American public how to get rich in government service via the Foundation and how to use that foundation to further impoverish Haiti, one of the most impoverished nations on earth. I want to thank her for her private email server that proved to be not so private. I want to thank her for her repeated lies to the American public about the existence of email communication only to be proven a liar again and again and again. I want to thank her for working to undermine a fair primary season by using her political power to undercut Bernie Sanders, a flawed candidate but a truly good man of principles. I did not want to live in Hillary’s America where success is punished and personal responsibility is not existent. While I worry about our future, I choose the unknown to the path we were on. God Bless America, always.”

Kathy Shaidle: “How do you go from walking the streets of New York City covered in other people’s ashes to praising Hillary Clinton for her ‘integrity’ and cheering a candidate so ill she had to be carried off from a 9/11 memorial? Did you actually ignore all the damning WikiLeaks info? Don’t you know that she used her position as Secretary of State to enrich her family’s foundation to the tune of tens of millions of dollars, via ‘donations’ from Middle Eastern dictatorships which then received favors from the administration? Experience with what? Getting Americans killed at Benghazi? She’s never accomplished anything. She married well and lasted far longer than she should have. She spoke to empty arenas because her shrill voice and appeals to divisive identity politics turn off normal people. And that ‘popular vote’? It all came from California. That is: illegals and limo liberals. You are delusional and shouldn’t be allowed to practice journalism any longer, any more than a surgeon with Parkinson’s should be allowed near a patient.”

Marcus Oliveira Spiegelma: “Wrong! Patriotism? Selling herself out to foreign power through the Clinton Foundation and advocating for the TPP. Decency? Backstabbing Bernie in the primaries. Maturity? Calling half the country ‘deplorables’. Principle? She changed her principles depending on her audience.”

James Thomas: “I am aghast. A campaign run on principle? Which principles might those have been? Was it a principle of trickle down politics where that which benefits Goldman Sachs will ultimately benefit the eroding middle class? Or was it the principle of privilege, that rules are for the little people (TM Leona Helmsley) and that the fog of scandal that follows her like cheap perfume is all a right wing plot? Perhaps it is the principle that what one says matters and what one does … meh, not so much. […]  who […] turned a life of ‘public service’ into a burgeoning personal fortune. […] And now comes a journalism school academic, bleating like a sheep, that Hillary died on a cross for our sins. What a tool.”

Oy: “Yes, it was the merriest of Christmases. I will be forever grateful that she will never be president.”

Calling liberals like Jeff Jarvis mentally ill is both too kind and a misnomer. He is delusional and toxic.
