Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.
The only religion that Atheist organizations like the Freedom from Religion Foundation and the American Humanist Association really care about is Christianity. To appear objective, Atheists might criticize religions like Islam, but they don’t harbor hatred toward them like they do with Christianity.
If a public schoolteacher says anything about being a Christian, Atheists are quick to sue that teacher personally and in his professional capacity for violating the 1st Amendment’s “Establishment Clause.” If the teacher is a Muslim, Atheists hardly notice.
A Tennessee schoolteacher had middle school students recite and write, “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet.” It was a part of their world history class. There was also a chapter in their textbook on Christianity, but the teacher skipped over that part, allegedly to come back to it later in the year. (We’ll see about that.)
In the Maury County School District, students were assigned a Five Pillars of Islam project that included the translation of the pillar of “Shahada” as being, “There is no god but Allah; Muhammad is his prophet.”
[Parent Brandee] Porterfield said she has no objections to her daughter learning details of the Islamic religion, but she objects to the fact that the history unit didn’t devote similar time to Christianity or Judaism.
“It really did bother me that they skipped the whole chapter on the rise of Christianity and they spent three weeks just studying Islam,” she said.
Porterfield and other parents were also concerned with the school’s decision to have children write and recite the Islamic creed.
Maury County Director of Schools, Chris Marczak, defended the curriculum in a statement, saying that the school system is in no way endorsing Islam over other religions or trying to “indoctrinate” students.
“It is our job as a public school system to educate our students on world history in order to be ready to compete in a global society, not to endorse one religion over another or indoctrinate,” Marczak said.
I wonder what the reaction of Atheists would be to learn that a schoolteacher had his students recite the Apostles’ Creed or list the Ten Commandments. Now that would be an outrage. That would constitute endorsing Christianity over other religions.
I actually don’t have any problem with students learning about the world’s religions, including Islam. I have no problem with kids learning the five pillars of Islam. What I object to is that the same attention would not be allowed if the religion they were learning about were Christianity.
