Not everyone is titillated with the recent GOP debates in Cleveland. Critics from the pragmatic to the hyper-critical, analysts and pundits alike are weighing every nuance from the serious political and policy questions to the humor.
Hultberg says, “Unfortunately this two-tiered debate was just one more exercise in the miserable irrelevancy of the media’s handling of “political affairs” in America today.”
The Debate is Not about Trump – it is about the Nation
The Donald was pummeled by Megyn Kelly on his use of words to describe women that he may not like. While it may not be a national issue, it is a very serious issue with women. Now some are crying foul and have decided it may have been directed by Fox’s execs or worse by Kelly herself to bring Trump down in the polls.
I don’t like Rosie and I take issue with Kelly’s views on homo “marriage’ but I am perfectly content to say that no one, not even billionaires, can insult and degrade women without eventually running headlong into the proverbial ‘woman’s scorn.’ Trump bought this one; he was not hi-jacked or cornered. Loud and outspoken has its merits but disrespect has none.
Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.
Shortly after the debate, it was reported that Rosie tweeted a question about how one could possibly explain Trump’s names for women to their children. I don’t like Trump’s names but the question is moot. Rosie is the quintessential hyper-left wing liberal. Many of the children of liberals don’t need an explanation for anything – they have already been aborted and will never hear the question.
This writer always projects far into the future since all decisions will eventually run into the realm of ‘reap and sow.’ I love the idea of someone who ignores the PC sugar coating of the liberals, but I still demand that we take very seriously, who we will allow to have the finger on the nuclear button. I am not convinced that a man who sees women as fat pigs or bimbos is a safe bet to handle that grave responsibility.
It was not Kelly’s second question that dethroned Trump in the eyes of many republicans, but it was the first question. If he is not willing to announce that he will not run as a third party candidate if he loses the nomination, then he has become a threat to the party and the nation itself. If he becomes the Ross Perot candidate of 2016 people will be calling him names far richer than “fat pig.” He has stated he will not support the nominee if it is not him.
We must remember the lessons Barack Obama taught us in both 2008 and 2012. Voting for a pop-culture type candidate with, Alinskyite underpinnings, an aversion to truthfulness and limited experience as a leader in the business of nationhood will have far reaching repercussions.
The most important question of all is this – Trump may be outspoken and unencumbered as a candidate – but is he ‘presidential?’
Still Hiding America’s Gross Immorality Behind the PC Phrase – “Social Issues”
Far more serious than questions about Trump was the fact that the moderators saved what should have been first for last and then presented it under cover of the PC phrase ‘social issues.’
Today’s social issues are, in fact, moral issues and unless they are answered soon, they alone will be what pull the nation into its final demise. Balanced budgets, the Iran treaty, energy independence and education will see no remedy or improvement without facing the heart of what is bringing the nation to its knees.
After the first debate, pollster Frank Luntz was surprised when one of his focus groups brought up the subject of religious beliefs quite on their own, without being asked a question on the subject. They were addressing the beliefs of candidate Mike Huckabee and the held a consensus view which they expressed with the familiar, ‘we don’t want him to push his beliefs down our throats.’
Beware of clichés! What is actually being shoved down America’s throat?
America is presently chocking on the belligerent gay agenda, abortion practices, huge debt, energy irresponsibility, government expansion and corruption, illegal immigration and of course, Obama’s unlawful executive orders and general lies. – We are not choking on anyone’s religious beliefs.
We heard Scott Walker speak of his faith in Jesus Christ and the shed blood of Christ, we heard Jeb Bush say he was “informed” by his faith and almost all the candidates were equally disgusted with the recent discovery that Planned Parenthood is selling body parts, and in some cases whole bodies, of the innocent children they so happily abort for huge profits.
We needn’t be afraid of anyone’s Christian faith; it is after all what was delivered to us by our founding fathers and is today still defended by America’s best preachers, prophets and evangelists. We should be thankful that this faith is still found in our best candidates for the highest office in the land.
But Really – Who Came out Ahead in the Debate?
If you are going with the candidate you personally like the best you can’t be faulted for that, this is still America and that choice will always be yours to make. On the other hand if you would carefully look at the record, the rhetoric and the long range stand of each of our many candidates, you will find only one who is consistently conservative. You will find only one who is always honest and only one who does not flip flop on issues.
That man is Senator Ted Cruz.
Robert Moon of Examiner.com has provided a very well researched list of the top 15 conservative candidates for 2016 and has determined that Ted Cruz is by far the most conservative of the bunch, but even more important is the strongly held consensus that Cruz alone will remain conservative long after becoming president.
We must fight the inclination to vote on personality, general popularity, previous successes and appearances, braggadocio or bravado – the future of our nation is what is at stake, this is not a popularity contest. We know America’s got talent, what we need now is someone with unwavering conviction.
CNSNews.com said this about Cruz.
Near the end of the debate Thursday night, Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly asked conservative Republican Sen. Ted Cruz if he’d had “any word from God.”
Of the hundreds of questions that could have been asked, Kelly chose “an interesting closing question” for the candidates, suggested by a Facebook user, who said, ‘I want to know if any of them have received a word from God on what they should do and take care of first.’
“Senator Cruz, start from you. Any word from God?” Kelly asked.
“Well, I am blessed to receive a word from God every day in receiving the scriptures and reading the scriptures. And God speaks through the Bible,” Cruz replied, to applause.
I have had my not so glowing mentions in Huff-Po and a few articles that appeared in the opinion section of WND, but I have never been in a popularity contest with anyone. I hardly care what anyone thinks of my thousands of Biblically based articles and reports, but I do care deeply for this nation and must report that of all the candidates, the one most likely to keep America on the map is Cruz. He is the only one who would stand as a lion in defense of our nation. To wit:
“The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.” (Proverbs 28: 1-2)
