Update at 5:05 p.m. June 15: Based on Twitter, at least, Dallas police are ready to move on from Fredricka Whitfield’s comments over the weekend, especially after today’s on-air apology. In the words of Dallas Police Maj. Max Geron, “I accept her apology. It’s in the past.”
Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.
But not for sportscaster-turned-Lieutenant Governor of Texas Dan Patrick.
“Today I sent a letter to CNN president Jeffrey Zucker, calling for the immediate resignation of CNN host Fredricka Whitfield for her appalling comments about the shooting at the Dallas Police Department Headquarters this weekend,” says a release from Patrick, which included the missive you will find below.
Update at 2:30 p.m. June 15: Once more, with feeling, Fredricka Whitfield went on CNN today to apologize for calling the attack on Dallas PD HQ “courageous and brave” Saturday.
Says Whitfield in the video below, “I misspoke terribly. I misused those words terribly. And I sincerely apologize for making this statement, and I understand now how offensive it was, and I want to reiterate that in no way do I believe the gunman was courageous or brave. I sincerely apologize.”
Is this the end of it?
