Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.
George Orwell wrote in his book 1984 that “in a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.” We currently live in a time of universal deceit, and those who dare to tell the truth, or voice an unpopular opinion, are beaten down. Those who do the beating are also the ones who loudly spread the deceit. It’s social tyranny.
In a recent interview with CBN News, Marco Rubio said:
“We are at the water’s edge of the argument that mainstream Christian teaching is hate speech, because today we’ve reached the point in our society where if you do not support same-sex marriage, you are labeled a homophobe and a hater.
So what’s the next step after that? After they are done going after individuals? The next step is to argue that the teachings of mainstream Christianity, the catechism of the Catholic Church, is hate speech and there’s a real and present danger.”
Immediately, Nancy Pelosi went on the attack, saying the following on MSNBC:
“I thoroughly disagree (with Rubio’s opposition to gay marriage), being raised in a Catholic family, raising a Catholic family, mainstream Catholic – well, the Baltimore catechism, to get back to our hometown of Baltimore, was what we were raised on. And I think that this statement by Senator Rubio is most unfortunate. It’s a polarizing statement. The fact is, is that what we’re taught was to respect people in our faith and to say that this endangers mainstream Christian thinking is so completely wrong.
And, again, it’s polarizing and I would hope that—perhaps he believes what he says, and I assume that he does—but I hope that we can persuade him differently because the country is going in a completely different direction now. And it’s very, very exciting.”
So, here we have two Catholics. One opposes same-sex marriage, the other embraces it, and calls her opposition “polarizing.” Side note—isn’t “polarizing” a banned word now? If we can’t use it to describe Hillary, the rule should be equally enforced.
But which Catholic is correct? More to the point, I guess, which Catholic is in step with the teachings of their faith, their faith’s leader, and the scripture they allegedly follow?
So far, Pope Francis hasn’t spoken much about this issue, but he did make one comment while in the Philippines:
“The family is threatened by growing efforts on the part of some to redefine the very institution of marriage, by relativism, by the culture of the ephemeral, by a lack of openness to life.”
Francis’ words can only be taken to mean the redefinition of marriage via same-sex marriage. At this point, there are no others trying to broadly redefine marriage. Strike one for Pelosi.
Pope Benedict, the Pope who served prior to Francis condemned same-sex marriage in 2012:
“…powerful political and cultural currents [are] seeking to alter the legal definition of marriage”.
That’s just for good measure.
The Vatican’s official position on same-sex marriage is even more direct:
“Those who would move from tolerance to the legitimization of specific rights for cohabiting homosexual persons need to be reminded that the approval or legalization of evil is something far different from the toleration of evil.”
Strike two, Pelosi.
1 Corinthians 6: 9-10 says:
“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
That’s just one of numerous verses in the New Testament that condemn homosexual behavior. I don’t care what you believe about homosexual behavior—and as an extension same-sex marriage—but Catholicism and support for same-sex marriage are mutually exclusive. Strike three, Pelosi.
Despite the fact that Nancy Pelosi’s belief goes against not only the words of her religious leader, but that of the scripture Catholicism follows, she is not alone. Last month, Ireland legalized same-sex marriage 62.1% to 37.9%. This, in a country that is supposedly 84.2% Roman Catholic, with 48.2% attending mass at least once a week.
In a Quinnipiac poll from 2013, American Catholic support for same-sex marriage was 60% to 31%, and a recent Univision poll put those numbers at 54% to 40%.
So, Nancy Pelosi is correct, we are moving in a new direction. However, to say that she is a good Catholic, one who not only follows the teachings of the scripture, but one who follows the words of the Church’s leaders, is false. Nancy Pelosi is may call herself a Catholic, but her pronounced support for abortion, and same-sex marriage say otherwise.
For Pelosi to call Rubio a bad Catholic is ludicrous, and for her to deflect from the core of the idea, and say that not supporting same-sex marriage is disrespectful, and therefore wrong, is laughable.
Rubio and conservatives like him may now be the minority, but it does not mean they are wrong, nor does it mean they are not respectful of other people. In fact, isn’t that the point of the whole tolerance thing the left constantly preaches about? We may have differences, but those differences aren’t linked with disrespect or cruelty.
As Mahatma Gandhi said: “Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.”
Nancy, you’re not Christ, so stop pretending to be.
