“Did you give the man the business cards I told you to?” my dad asked me, hoping I had been obedient.
Cars were zipping past the busy street, and my dad and I were standing on the pavement having this strange conversation.
Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.
“No, Dad I didn’t,” I replied, not sure how my dad was going to react.
“What! I thought I told you to give that man the business cards. Why don’t you listen to me? My son, you’re the only person I can trust. Our phones are being tapped, and people are watching us!”
“What are you talking about, Dad?”
“Peter, our phones are tapped. People are listening to our conversations, and I’m being watched by bad people that want to hurt me.”
Of course, none of the things that my dad was saying were true, but he really believed it. It was hard for me to see my dad this way.
My dad, a man whom I deeply love and respect, believed that there was a conspiracy against him.
Later on, my mom and I would find out that my dad became ill and was diagnosed with delusional schizophrenia.
What happened after that made my world spiral out of control, and it made me question everything that I believed about God.
This is my testimony (or story) of how I became a Christian, then an atheist, and then a completely different person altogether.
