The Apostasy of Rick Warren Revealed

What Finger News

Warren-Pope

While unity in the church is important – it is also important to know who the false teachers are.

Today’s false teachers mix the truth of the Bible with unbiblical stances on doctrine that are supposedly supported by the Bible. The problem with these bright, shiny, old and new diamonds of theology is that they look oh so good to many who are seeking. What are they seeking you might be asking, so glad you asked.

People are seeking alternatives to traditional church – have you heard about the Oklahoma church where the 1st beer in on them? Yes I’m serious – this is a growing trend to get people into church.

Oklahoma Pastor Defends ‘Beer and Hymns’ Church Night After Event Draws Protesters; Says ‘Jesus Drank Wine With Hookers’

Others are looking for an easier way to heaven such as by your own works, sound familiar? Or maybe there is no need for God at all, when you can simply be your own god! Sounds absurd but many are into New Age thinking.

How about church without the inconvenience of God: Church Without God  This is not an isolated phenomenon either, it is growing the world over.

Or how about tickle my ears theology where the main idea is you, not God. After all you deserve the very best right (insert Joel Osteen here)? Why shouldn’t you get all you ask for – simply name it and claim it and it’s yours. Pray hard enough and God will give you the desires of your heart. Oh wait a minute – that book we know as the Bible, it says something about needing to be in God’s will, I think they forgot that part.

Tired of hearing about your sins? Don’t like sermons that prattle on about serving, Christ, righteousness, picking up your own cross, hell, and changing your ways? No problem – just get a different church where they don’t talk about that stuff. Problem solved right?

If there is a top 10 list of false teachers Rick Warren would be on it. Warren has some good things to say, but there is much mixed in that is not good. Problem is many seem oblivious to why what he says is wrong. Take his observation that Catholics and Protestants etc. have more in common that not – after all we read and believe in the same Bible. Um, no we do not actually.

Take for instance the Catholic Bible – it has more books in it than the Protestant Bible. These additional books are problematical that is why they are not in other Bibles, these books are at some point at odds with what the rest of Scripture teaches.

Rick Warren has also said that Catholics don’t really worship Mary – uh yes Mr. Warren they do. The Catholic faith prays to Mary believing she can intercede for them, she is taught to be the queen of heaven.

How about Chrislam – the merging of Christianity and Islam?
“Before we “shake your hand” in responding to your letter, we ask forgiveness of the All-Merciful One and of the Muslim community around the world.” – Rick Warren in a speech to Muslims. By the way – All-Merciful One is an Islamic title for Allah.

While we as Believers are called to love others – and that includes Muslims and the Pope etc., that does not mean we are to follow their teachings nor cozy up to them and sing Kumbaya together.

Watch the video below – its an eye opener to say the least.

  1. Good grief….is this man off on his theology and true knowledge of what Catholics truly believe or what a true believer really is. I know, I was raised one. Worshipping Mary and praying to her and to saints is exactly what it is…there is nothing else there. If we love Jesus we’re on the same side? I don’t think so. My former roommate ministered to unbelievers of different faiths and one Indian woman saw ‘The Jesus Film’ and cried. She said in fact I love Jesus…she never believed however. I’m even sure there were people who never believed in Jesus who knew Him when He was on earth who loved Him. The things that come out of Mr. Warren’s mouth are unreal…..and worse, as he is very influential, they are DANGEROUS! Thanks for the post, will put it out on Twitter and on my Facebook page where I am sure some friends will NOT appreciate it…just as they do not appreciate hearing the truth about Osteen. Blessings to you as you continue to bring attention to these things so believers may know what is going on!

    • Rick Warren is a little out there to say the least. It’s too bad as he is very influential as you said. We need to pray for those who have been duped into believing his teachings.

      Thank you and God bless

  2. Thanks Greg for posting this.

Since you mentioned a top 10 list of false teachers, would you be able to name a few? I want to make sure that I warn others about them if their names ever come up. I have a few on my list as well, like Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer.

  3. John.10 Verses 27 to 28

[27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
[28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

  4. Did Jesus really drink wine with hookers? I’m new to this

    • I don’t know that Jesus did in fact drink wine with harlots, but it is conceivable that He could have been present at a meal where harlots were present as well. Jesus did not ever sin, but He did not shy away from being around people who were “sinners”.

      • You know he drank wine with harlots. It’s explicit. And really, Rick Warren? Do you have no shame claiming a fellow Christian to be an APOSTATE just because he differs from your theology?? You really want to bet you have it so figured out?? You are shameless. You’re taking a fellow Christian and dissecting his theology and intentions with such piousness, it’s honestly people like you who turn people away from the church in droves. You’re like a decade behind the conversation, and it’ll take another decade before all you theo-bloggers realize you killed the 20th century church doing exactly what Jesus was fighting against.

Luke chapter 7 verse 33, Jesus says “For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ 35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children.” It goes on to tell the story of the sinner woman washing his feet to Simon’s dismay.

He seems to be saying, in part, that the pious and the self-righteous find fault wherever it suits them. The ascetic rebel, John the baptist? Demon possessed. The temporal rabbi, Jesus? Drunkard; friend of sinners.

Wasn’t Jesus’ whole message to diffuse the lines between sinners and the righteous and between warring religions? Didn’t he condemn those who judge and give love to the outcast sinner? The institutionalized, dogmatic, religious moral codes pushing people away is the gravest sin of all. It seems to be what Jesus taught against most are people like you.

        • Rick Warren does not differ from “my theology”, he differs from the Bible. Perhaps you ought to do some research before you accuse me of things you obviously know very little about. Read what the Apostle Paul says about reproving and rebuking…
          Jesus “judged” the Pharisees.
Read your Bible a little more.
Your comment is not only baseless, but rather insulting.

          • Thank YOU so much Greg. You are a needed light in this dark world. So many are deceived and I pray right now that God will continue to protect and strengthen you to do what many are not willing to do. Apostasy in the church is Rampant. I think if more Pastors would boldly teach the congregation how to contend for the faith your job would be easier. I stand with you, brother!
