Singer Carman Licciardello Says Christians Need To Stop ‘Terrorizing’ Joel Osteen

General Michael Flynn defense fund Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.

Multi-platinum recording artist Carman Licciardello recently took to social media to defend Joel Osteen, calling him “a God ordained bridge between the mainstream world and the church,” and urging Christians to stop “terrorizing” the successful megachurch pastor. osteens

I almost fell over when I saw this one, singer Carmen took up the fight to support Joel Osteen. Carmen says Osteen is a “God ordained bridge between the mainstream world and the church”, he also said Osteen is one of Christianity’s “key representatives” – really Carmen? Where did you get that idea from? Osteen is God ordained? that is a pretty serious statement that is without merit.

If Joel and Victoria Osteen are the epitome of today’s Church, we are in serious trouble as a Christian community. Allow me to present some examples of why I say this.

Osteen cannot even get biblical events right, a pastor who does not know his Bible. Moses saw the sun stand still was one of his recent statements. You can read about that one here.

Joel dances around the truth often, when Larry King tried to pin him down on Jesus being the only way to heaven Joel says basically he believes that BUT does not know about others even of different faiths. Really? You can see that interview here.

Joel as well teaches the prosperity gospel that is no gospel at all. See this article for a good example of what is wrong with Joel Osteen’s teachings.

Then we have Victoria Osteen saying, “When you come to church, when you worship Him, you’re not doing it for God really. You’re doing it for yourself, because that’s what makes God happy.” Uh really Victoria, do you worship the same God as I do?
Then Victoria turns around and defends herself but leaves out part of what she said.

From The Blaze, “While I admit that I could have been more articulate in my remarks, I stand by my point that when we worship God and are obedient to Him we will be better for it,” That is NOT what she all said! This statement I agree with, not the original.

The Osteens are more than a little confused on biblical theology, worship, and many other things. Worship is first and foremost about God, not us. The entire Church is all about God, not us. The Osteens make God out to be some kind of over-indulgent pappa in the sky, existing to grant us all of our wants. We are here to serve God, to glorify Him and serve Him.

If you are into “tickle my ears” teaching then the Osteen’s Church is right where you belong. If however you desire to honestly follow God and serve Him, then stay far far away from the Osteens. Their teachings align more with New Age philosophy than with the Word of God.

So no Carmen, I will not support Joel Osteen nor anyone who does.

  1. Carmen has sold out to the applause of men & he doesn’t fear God or His Holy Word.
Rick Warrren & Joel Osteen are proof of that.

  2. I think Greg that the biggest copout with the Osteens, in my opinion at least, is salvation. So many people think that they’re on their way to heaven but they think they are going there because of their good works, not because of their faith in Jesus Christ.

I once saw Joel on Larry King and he wasn’t really able to even say how people get saved. Sad indeed 🙁

    • Hey Peter, thanks for stopping by! Always glad to see you. 🙂

Yes I linked to that interview in the article. 🙂 Joel will not come right out and say that the only ones who are saved are those who know Christ. He also will not discuss theology, Joel would rather dance around the truth offering up mindless platitudes that do no one any good.

The Osteens are a sad case but they are also becoming the norm in today’s Church. People have a hunger for “feel good” teaching, not the truth. Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, and Joyce Myers all teach this feel good nonsense and are doing much damage.

  3. What is really scary is the sheer numbers of people who think the things they say are fine and dandy. Then you have a well known Christian singer who has been around for ages supporting what is said….and people DO side many times with who they like in music etc. Of special concern was the statement that they are a ‘God ordained bridge’….is he serious? God ordained? Thank you for this post and also for the links to the other articles where one can read them in their entirety.

  4. I think the important thing is that the Osteen family teaches people that God gives us unconditional love if we are willing to accept him in our hearts and love and serve him. Also, they teach people to be good people and good to others and to live positive and faithful lives. He does say that God does not expect us to be perfect but to know that God knows our hearts. It is important to know and remember that we are not the one’s to judge. None of us are without sin. Only God should be judging us, especially those who are trying to help others reach God. Maybe, he doesn’t get every detail right, but he is using his platform of success to reach the masses and help them know God. It is still a very positive message that can help people know and serve God. Please think about how God is love and we aren’t righteous enough to judge others. I know you are coming from a good place in your heart and for God, but just maybe so are the Osteens. The olive branch is the symbol of peace and maybe we need to extend that. God would never want us to spread hate or contempt. I do hope that you don’t take offense to this. God bless you and best wishes.

    • No God does not expect us to be perfect, but that is no way a license to sin either.

As to us judging, God’s Word specifically tells us to judge, not the person, but rather their actions.
      Matthew 7:1-5, Deuteronomy 17:6-7, John 7:19, 24, 1 Corinthians 6:2-6

Joel Osteen is a prosperity gospel preacher – not a true preacher of God’s Word. It’s all well and good to preach the good stuff, but what about God’s judgement of us? What about the reality of Hell? God IS love, but that in NO way means He will not judge us. Anyone who believes otherwise is a fool.

It’s not about hate or contempt as you mention, rather it is about preaching ALL of the Word of God. Jesus preached about Hell often, why do you think that is? Yet the Osteens mention it very little or not at all. Joyce Meyer and Rick Warren are the same. All of these have a place in the Emergent Church which is leading many astray.

If you would take the time to check what Joel Osteen says against what the Bible says, you will find his teaching is woefully lacking.

I am in no way offended, but at the same time, I am not inclined to listen to any argument that Joel Osteen is a good preacher, because he definitely is not.

  5. I used to see Carman on the apostate TBN years ago. I was always offended by some of his comments and his joking attitude about the things of God. There is nothing funny about God. God is serious about our souls, our salvation, and our obedience. God deserves our reverence and respect at all times.
