Jealousy

A devotion by Cheryl Zelenka  http://facingtrials.com

General Michael Flynn defense fund Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.

“A heart at peace gives life to the body,
but envy rots the bones.” Proverbs 14:30 (NIV)

Jealousy will tear down a relationship and destroy trust. Look for the blessings in your own life and be HAPPY for the blessings other folks receive. God has no favorites and He looks to bless all of His children. What He has given you is best for you. What He provides for another is best for him/her.

I always wanted to marry but never found the right man. I was rasied in a Christian home where my parents adored and greatly respected each other. I wanted to know this same blessing. However, God did not send a match my way…. for a reason. Christian maturity means accepting the path the Lord has led you to and trusting Him with each and every turn.

Is it easy to live a single life? No… but neither is it easy to live the life of a married couple. Both lifestyles have advantages and disadvantages. The trick is to acknowledge the blessings you have and submit to the will of God.  Life is an upward climb, always full of challenges. To envy the life of another is to rob yourself of joy and peace.

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.  Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.” 1 Timothy 6:6-11 (NKJV)
