Fellow patriots, please listen to this short, inspiring message from General Flynn. General Michael Flynn exemplifies patriotism, courage, and love of God and country - despite some of his own countrymen relentlessly attacking him. Donations for his defense are greatly appreciated. If you can only give $5.00, please do so - every little bit helps. Thank you so much, and God bless. Letter from General Flynn.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the Divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” 2 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV)
Take a moment and acknowledge God’s provisions in your life. This will have an immediate affect on your attitude. You will start to see your many blessings.
Your needs, fears, cares, trials, and storms may be immense but your God is greater still, far greater than any of your adversities. We often forget that our God is Almighty…. Yes, He is all-powerful!
God is aware of your needs and knows exactly where you have been placed. You have been given the talents, gifts, and provisions needed to overcome each one of your sorrows and obstacles. You may be uncomfortable in the midst of your storm, but look around, I’m sure He has provided shelter and protection…. or at least an umbrella!
Recognizing the provisions of God will generate a heart of gratitude and thanks. Our Lord will always meet our needs, but He also looks for ways to bless us beyond our every day necessities. He gives only good gifts to His children. Sadly, we don’t always recognize His presents, for they are frequently gift wrapped inside a struggle or trial.
A trial is a learning opportunity. Maybe it is a lesson about control, or one about letting God lead. Perhaps it is a lesson in love, faith, or the grace of God. Whatever the lesson objective may be; when we lean on our Creator we grow in our dependence on His provisions. We witness small miracles and experience tender moments in His presence. Therefore, all struggles are a gift.
Ask yourself if it really matters that your circumstances are difficult. Life is an upward climb! I doubt you will find anyone who believes living life is easy.
By giving in to self-pity, we postpone our assent to the high places of God. Wallowing in misery won’t get anyone anywhere fast. In fact, if we wallow too long, the mire about us will turn into quicksand and slowly suck us into deeper despair and hopelessness.
Sure, grief and sorrow are emotions God built into our beings, and Jesus was well acquainted with grief. However, you don’t read that our Lord languished and vegetated in his suffering. He didn’t remain stuck in His sorrow, He moved on to the next phase of His journey. He looked to the will and purpose of His Father and did not complain or fall into the sin of self-pity.
God provided His Son with the courage, strength, love, and compassion to die a horrible death for our sake. Through Jesus we have been redeemed. God permitted Jesus to experience unimaginable anguish, but the blessings that came out of His sacrifice are beyond our complete comprehension and understanding. Eternal life and adoption certainly… but I am pretty sure there’s even more fruit for us to grasp that came out of His sacrifice. Once we are home in heaven we will see things clearly and in their entirety.
If you are struggling with a sorrow, ask yourself what Jesus wants of you. Is He asking you to rest in Him or maybe move past your grief and use what you have experienced to comfort others? Can you look for the blessing inside your trial? Too often we tell God exactly what we want Him to do for us. We forget that Jesus has already done it all, He paid the ultimate price. We are victors because He was and always will be victorious over the grave.
Let the provisions of God move you past your heartache and into a new future full of hope, joy, new struggles, and peace. Life is an uphill climb. If you’re wise you have packed all the blessed provisions your loving Savior has provided for the trek up the eternal hillside. Thank you Father for our daily provisions and for the many blessings You send to us every day.
